Synthesis and Characterization of Corn Starch Grafted Guar Gum Composite with Tamarind Kernel Powder

In this work, a composite of corn starch grafted (-g-) guar gum was synthesized by polymerization process using tamarind kernel powder as polysaccharide. Firstly, grafting done with and saponification alkali, i.e., sodium hydroxide (NaOH). It further derivatized through condensation thermally treated at different temperatures. This leads to some chemical structural changes in the compound. The characteristics were studied 1H NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance), which showed protonic environment found CS-g-GG TKP composite.
